Family package of chicken:
What a serious disappointment. You'd think a family pack would be a whole chicken cut up or something. BUT no, it's got a few legs and wings in it then there's chopped up pieces like the rib part is whacked in half. It's really a pain too. We made chicken and rice soup for the day with this chicken. Everybody had to pick the meat off the bits of chicken. I worried about the kids eating the bones. It was like busy work! Took them even longer to eat that soup. No complaints though.
Fingers up the nose:
Jessica told Lillian that when children are bad in Korea, they stick their fingers UP their nose. So, now Lillian threatens others with the fingers up their nose. It's really funny too. Even in the car Lillian and Muriel do it. They will see Terry driving and when we stop at a light, they poke their fingers at him. I'm sure other drivers think we're nuts.
Merchants:
I've been asked how I manage to buy items at the market. It's not that hard. You get what you want, the person writes it down or shows you the receipt OR breaks out the calculator and punches in the amount you owe. It's easy. The kids have it figured out too. They point and say how much? The person they are talking to will hold up their fingers or say how many thousand won it is.
Driving:
Okay, going to school was easy than coming back. I actually had to ask the kids if I was in the correct lane! Which I wasn't and Muriel kept telling me to back up since there wasn't anyone behind me. Then this car comes zooming up and stops right where I need to be. So, I put the car in reverse and slowly backed up. To my surprise, this person backed up, way up to let me in. I didn't even go that far! Just a few feet so I could aim the car towards the other lane. Oh, I felt like an idiot especially when Muriel and Mikey were staring out the back window at the other driver. Now, Mikey keeps doing it. I think it's the only reason he rides in the 3rd row! AND Muriel opened the door at the stop light! Jessica about turned around and gave her a good scolding. Both of us glared at her and told her to CLOSE the door before the light turned! Now, I remember why a van is so nice!
