It's amazing here. What ever it is that makes our allergies act up isn't here. We are all feeling so much better too. No more sinus headaches or sneezing our heads off! To say the least, it's nice. Although, I did find one shampoo that I cannot be around. Jessica washed the kids' hair with some Korean shampoo that upon smelling it, I sneezed until my voice was gone! I don't know what it is but I forbid anyone to use it again.
Oh, my blood pressure is down so much that I had to stop taking my medicine. It's running around 103/68 which is a lot better than it was. I told Jessica I felt really weird and thought maybe my medicine was too much. I was right! All I wanted to do to was sit down. Walking made it worse so I decided I should check my blood pressure. I thought "this can't be right" it's never been that low. I'm certainly not complaining. AND I've gone completely gluten free! Lillian has been gluten free for awhile now but I've been less strict on myself. I've never tested positive for gluten issues so the doctor said I didn't have a problem. Well, now that I only eat fresh produce and rice products etc I don't have any problems. Really, I feel like I'm returning to normal even though I don't remember what normal is. The only canned goods in the house are canned chicken, roast beef and tuna -oh, there's a can of black beans too. BUT overall, the quality of our diet has greatly improved. No processed foods, no gluten, no salt, no pepsi or coke or even sprite. The kids are really feeling mistreated though. Mikey informed me it was "sprite day" yesterday. We let each of them have a dixie cup full of korean sprite which seemed to fulfill the sweet tooth they have.
Lillian is doing really well too. She has had less melt downs and her tantrums are less too. She also isn't arguing as much. I know she feels better. Terry said he is going to make the kids name tags that say "Do not feed this child due to life threatening allergy" in Korean. This is due to Lillian grabbing some kind of free tasty treat in the supermarket. I think it was a breaded pork chop. Jessica turned around just in time to see Lillian opening her mouth to poke a bite in. Jessica screamed "NO LILLIAN!" and Lillian dropped it. The lady was all kinds of offended and EVERYONE stopped to look what was going on. Terry explained the kids cannot have wheat, barely or rye and THEN they all understood what was going on. BUT no one knows when that lady washed her hands last and that's an even bigger problem. Hep A and Hep B are a serious issue due to the lack of washing hands and dirty conditions people live/work in. We are big advocates on hand washing at home and at the school. Every person whether adult or child MUST wash their hands when coming into the school. We also use cleaning wipes and the place is cleaned twice a week to help prevent the spread of disease and illness.
