The Cleaning Lady Strikes Again
I didn't realize the cleaning lady was coming to the house and school until late wednesday night. So, I made sure the kids put their things up especially off the floor. I tell the kids it is important for them to keep their things tidy so the cleaning lady can do her job and not throw away anything important. So, maybe I should have listened to my words better. I unpacked 50 pounds of books in the school library. I set them beside the other suitcase and started to sort them according to whether they came as a set or reading level. I didn't want to put them on the bookcase since the kids would be getting them and Lord knows where they would end up. I really would have put them on the table to keep them out of the cleaning lady's way -But I didn't know she was coming. The cleaning lady came to the school early and when done went to the house. Later in the evening Jessica realized the books were gone. Once home she asked Terry where the books were. I didn't know and Terry didn't either. So, there we all sat wondering where the cleaning put them. Terry and Jessica both knew she did something with them. We all figured she threw them in the recycling box the little lady upstairs has. This lady goes around with her cart picking up recycling and turns it in for cash. The bad thing is, you never know when this lady is going to take the recycling. So, Jessica and Terry went to the school around midnight to look for the books. Sure enough, the books were in a box upstairs. Thankfully, all the books were there and Jessica and Terry were able to save them. I was really upset over those books. I had to pack them in my suitcase and bring them over on the plane. Jessica had bought a lot of those books. Some of them my mom and I bought. Other books were free or donated to the school but my mom or I had to go get them. Either way, we paid for those books. Plus, I sacrificed bringing clothes and other things to bring the books. Jessica said Terry better have a talk with that woman or fire her. There was even a new package of booklets in the stack so why would you throw away new stuff let alone books? This is the worst cleaning lady I've ever seen but the dog likes her. And let's face it, not too many people are willing to put up with Sammy. He's gotten better with age but he's still a demon dog.
