What bad little children I have

You know how it is, some days kids can be perfect little angels THEN one day the horns come out. Well, the horns came out! I told Jessica they would get comfortable and start acting up soon. It started with the drive to school. They were yapping away and being distracting so I ended up missing my turn. The GPS will tell me where to go BUT I have to keep an eye on how many meters until my next turn. At Tae Kwan Doe, Mikey ran around and kept getting into trouble. The TKD Master sent a message to Terry about it. I told Terry to tell the Master and his staff to make that boy behave. All I know is that Mikey kept running around and being naughty. Muriel didn't do much better. She said the Master told her to kick high but she didn't do it right so he helped her. She said it hurt and was so mad that she opted to NOT ask to go to the bathroom. Now, we have even more laundry to do. We didn't make a big deal out of it since we figure she was just too shy to ask. We are to the point of taking bets on how long it will be until Mikey gets kicked out of Tae Kwan Doe. I think Muriel and Lillian will be fine.

Then at the school, Muriel decided singing was better than quiet time while resting. I kept asking her to be quiet and she kept singing. I very sternly told her to stop or she was going to get into trouble with Jessica and Terry. She'd stop for a few minutes then start singing again. Mikey decided to take their shoes and throw them up in the air. Once again, I had to go in there and ask them to lie down- it is quiet time. I told them they didn't have to sleep BUT they did have to lie still and be quiet. Lillian pretended to be Noma, Chuck's dog. She's cute but bites you if you get too close to Chuck. Noma comes by a couple times a week to check on everybody. She walks Chuck and tells him what to do! So, here's was Lillian acting like Noma. Jessica was in her office by this point and went into the kids' classroom and scolded them. Terry couldn't nap because they were noisy and being disrespectful. I was teaching a class and couldn't leave the students so Jessica had all she could take of those disrespectful children. She drug Muriel and Mikey to the door and pushed them out! They didn't even have shoes on. Jessica told them to get out of her school because they were being bad and not listening. Muriel cried and said she wanted back in the classroom. The two of them sat on the stairs in the stairwell and whined and cried. Jessica locked the door too. It's a glass door so we could see them the whole time. One of the student's mom came by and told Terry it must be hard to punish children who are so cute. He told her no, no it's not hard at all! The children must behave.

I took them home as soon as I could. Muriel and Lillian missed their phonics class too. So, they have homework. I put them on the couch to watch a korean cartoon while I made a dinner the younger two don't like. I wasn't going to reward bad behavior. I stuffed their faces and sent them all to bed. I told them they better be asleep when Jessica came home or she would mad at them! All three of them went to bed and stayed there.

Jessica came home and I told her their behavior was mild. At least they weren't punching, kicking and biting each other. I even used the words "I expect" when telling them to be good. They know how to behave but feel "special" because they aren't "students." They are related to the teachers and think they can get by with it. Overall, Lillian is the only one who got the picture and stopped misbehaving. We rewarded Lillian for listening and doing as told. I hope the next school day is better. Mikey has to write a note saying sorry to the TKD Master. Speaking it isn't enough. Muriel agreed to do better and Lillian said she would continue to listen and do. We made all 3 of them call their daddy and tell him what they did. I told them we better not have to do that again.

  1. Wow...what a day that was. I can't imagine how I'd handle that situation short of some sort of electric shock theropy. Perhaps that would work. What an ordeal! I feel sorry for the TKD instructor.

  3. Oh well, kids are gonna be kids. They are not all bad all the time. I do agree with the Mother of a student that Terry teaches, " It's hard to correct children when they are so cute." You all will make it through with flying colors! What's hard is keeping a stren look while busting at the seams laughing inside cause they were so darn cute!! Just ask any other Mom. Love Mom and G-G
